Comprehensive Immigration Reform Needed This Year
Arizona Construction Industry Action Needed
The federal government is working diligently to bring forth an immigration reform bill that will address the nations concerns. As you know the Arizona Contractors Association has been in constant battle for over 3 years now at the state legislature to avoid any new regulations to be placed on business with respect to immigration. The lack of movement at the federal level has caused many states, including Arizona to take matters into their own hands. However, this is changing and changing fast. Congress has realized that this is an issue that must be addressed this year. Our Senators and Congressman in Arizona must be contacted by each of us as constituents, business owners and construction leaders with a message of encouragement. It is imperative that we are supportive of their efforts to debate the issues and find a bi-partisan comprehensive immigration reform package that will address the failed system.
This week is critical in the process. There will be a comprehensive reform package introduced by Congress Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) called the STRIVE ACT 2007 that will have bi-partisan support. This is an aggressive reform package that has gained traction and will be debated in Congress this year with the hope of being passed and signed as early as this summer.
It is time for your Congressman and Senators to hear from you! Encourage their leadership as border state representatives and stress that businesses in Arizona need a comprehensive reform package to come from the federal government as soon as possible.

Commentary: Just one more classic example of how the man is trying to keep us down! Contractors and businesses all across the country are those directly responsible for all but importing the masses of illegal aliens north of the border. PAC’s like the Arizona Contractors Association lobby our Senators and Representatives relentlessly to insure the ample supply of cheap labor. The above was sent out to members in March of this year however, you can bet they are all on board with the latest and greatest rendition of an amnesty bill. Amnesty and an even greater influx of cheap and mostly unskilled labor is exactly what will maintain profits for these greedy bastards. What ever happened to fair wages to American workers gets you a quality product. Just ask big business; they’ll tell you, “Screw that! We’ll hire the wetbacks and watch the profit margins REALLY soar!” Our greedy politicians are no better. Do you think they give a rat’s behind what YOU their constituent has to say when you call and plead for them to vote no on amnesty so that you may be able to continue to work and avoid losing your job to a recently amnestied alien. Hell no! They consistently take the money (I mean “contributions”) from the special interest PACs to help fund everything from their next election to their fishing lodge to their next girlfriends second mink coat. Don’t you think it more than interesting that all these big business moguls walk away from their seven, eight and some times nine figure salaries and spend millions to try and get a job that pays pennies compared to what they’ve become accustomed. You can bet your ass it’s not because they’ve felt a calling to serve (well, maybe a few… a long time ago). They know once they get in office, tens of thousands of PACs are going to be beating down their doors with envelopes full of cash just for the opportunity to ask a favor. LET’S STOP RETURNING THE INCUMBENTS!!! The national political arena has become completely corrupted. We the people MUST take back control of our country!
Additional Commentary: “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” This is probably THE most important line in the Declaration of Independence. In common language it is paraphrased by saying, “Those with the ability to act, have the responsibility to act.”
If not us who. If not now when.
